No Migration Detected


As the remnants of Frances move over our area we can see plenty of precipitation in the radar, but no sign of migration at all. Here’s the radar, just so you can see what absolutely no nocturnal migration looks like:

Notice how there’s not even the least bit of noise after sunset. Usually that noise is created due to a temperature inversion which occurs when the sun sets and the land surface begins to cool, releasing heat into the air above. I’m assuming that because the area was cloud covered and experiencing precipitation before and after sunset, the land surface and air temp were relatively consistent, and that after sunset there was not enough difference to cause a noticeable inversion.

The Cold Front : Some weather models predict the front to move over our area by tonight, others by tomorrow night. Check back often for updates on its projected passage.
