Migration over Jerze

Heavy migration over Jerze last night with the light winds on the eve of the thunderstorms that entered our area this morning. Weather pretty much shut everything down, but only an hour before sunrise would have done the same. Conditions should be favorable for birding if not for the current downpour…(sigh)

Went out onto our patio to take the water out of our hanging plants at 10AM and heard or saw Black-throated Green, Chestnut-sided,Black and White, Blackpoll and American Redstart. Some made it through the rain to our little patch of wooded and now flooded wet woods in Central NJ.

Good Birding,

Wendy and Stuart

Cool! I heard a Northern Parula, Blue-headed Vireo, and Indigo Bunting on my walk back from lunch…not sure if they’re lingering from last week or new arrivals though since I just got back on campus today.
