A small push of migrants into Jerze

Birds were migrating over Jersey last night, with a peak around midnight and a quick tapering off by 2:00am. Incoming migration was heaviest along the western half of the state, although some birds were evidently entering over the bay and into the southeast. If you’re trying to decide where to go, Garret Mt. and Sandy Hook would be my best guess given the pattern of migration last night. To decide between the two, I’d consider the chance of fog for Sandy Hook early in the morning and probably opt for Garret. Of course there’s always your backyard! That’s where I’m going 🙂 (not your backyard, my backyard…)

Here’s the radar from Sunset last night through sunrise this morning.
