No migration last night

I know… I said I was taking the weekend off… but there’s some really cool migration going on in Florida right now, and I need to get up anyway to post the radar to Badbirdz-Reloaded, our Florida companion site. Come on by and check it out if you’ve got a second.

As for the mid-Atlantic, well, the southerly flow has already built in nice and strong, keeping all nocturnal migration down for now, but beginning the flow that could bring some interesting pelagics to the region… so get your rain gear ready and keep an eye to the Atlantic.

Until next time, Good Birding!

  1. three neotrops of note at HMF this morning, during the concepts and methods of evolution field trip. A white-eyed vireo, singing near the end of the driveway and a yellow billed cuckoo and female scarlet tanager in the old growth woods.

here’s hoping to “active management” of that property in the near future…

  2. Magnolia warb the other day “testing” its voice: juv. wanderer…had what i thought a Great White H. on Sept. 1, 2005, day after Katrina, but PORC said Little Blue juv. or S. Egret…but look out: Hawk Mt. had an accepted N. Gannet, 1st year, and one the same at Presque I.

    bird on!
