Little migration last night

Some birds appeared to move early last night, but quickly died down as winds turned southeasterly. Here’s the radar from 7:00pm last night through 5:00am this morning.

Frames are every 1/2 hour. Click on the thumbnail to view the full-sized animation.

Not much going on last night, with the velocity image only showing patchy southbound movement in the couple of hours after sunset. This pretty much shut down by 10:00pm, when east winds built in along the frontal boundary. Expect a little shifting of birds this morning, but not much change from yesterday. This hopefully bodes well for resighting the Wheatear at Garret… but you never know with this species!

Good Birding
