Light migration over NJ and DE

Migration conditions started out pretty unfavorable last night, but improved as the night progressed. Here’s the radar from 6:00pm yesterday through 6:00am this morning.

Southwesterly flow just after sunset last night appeared to preclude any birds from migrating. This appears to have changed between 10:00 and 11:00pm when the winds died down and birds took to the sky. The radar indicated light migration over most of NJ and the Delmarva Peninsula, all of which was moving on a NW–>SE trajectory. The Eastern New York radar did not show any migration, apparently due to the unrelenting southerly winds over Long Island.
Good Birding
