Another push over the NE and mid-Atlantic

A nice flight out of the Northeast last night resulted in an influx of birds into the mid-Atlantic. Here’s the radar from 6:00pm last night through 6:00am this morning.

Frames are every 1/2 hour. Click on the thumbnail to view the full-sized animation.

The regional composite shows birds migrating from most locations after sunset last night. The most dramatic images, in my opinion, are those from along the southeast shores of the Great Lakes. You can actually see the migration cloud moving in a southeast direction… pretty cool! The Fort DIX radar also shows birds entering northern NJ a few hours after sunset. It appears that migration picked up overnight, as winds turned from westerly to northwesterly.

Good Birding
