More birds over NJ

Well, the new baby’s schedule hasn’t been working in concert with posting the morning radar (usually feeding at 3am, asleep by 4:30, and not up again until 7:30 when I need to start the daily tasks like walking the dog, making breakfast for my wife, etc.). Better late than never, though, right? Here’s the radar from 7:00pm last night through 5:00am this morning.

Frames are every 1/2 hour. Click on the thumbnail to view the full-sized animation.

Another night of birds over the mid-Atlantic, with New Jersey showing heavy migration from NE -> SW. Expect inland sites to be the best today. Expect some raptors to be flying early today, but all migration should die down after southerly winds build in today.

Good Birding

David

  1. We did not really bird today having gone to Cabela’s in Pennsylvania and got home late afternoon. We did notice a considerable number of robins and an immature Yellow-bellied Sapsucker along with numbers of Cedar Waxwings in our neighbors crab apple tree. Dark eyed Juncos have arrived in our backyard and saw our first White-throated Sparrow in our neighborhood yesterday. Time to put out the bird feeders for the winter now.
