Let’s dust this puppy off…

Unfortunately, funding ran out for the migration forecast on birdcapemay.org, so I won’t be posting there unless something changes (not expected). In the meantime I think we should get woodcreeper.com back up and running for the fall. My dissertation is submitted, and while I’ve still got plenty to do, I should be able to get it done in a regular 8-hour workday. So, who wants to check out some migration on the radar???

(I’m going to pretend that I hear you cheering)

So tonight the winds are light and out of the northwest, which appears to be triggering a small amount of migration. As the season ramps up I’ll be posting the radar following any detectable movements of birds, and once things really get into full swing, I’ll post daily.

Given the small flight tonight I’ll be posting the radar tomorrow morning, so check back for the visuals and a bit of interpretation with your morning cup of Joe.

It’s nice to be back.

Good Birding
David

  1. Thanks for the encouragement!

@Dawn: Unfortunately, not that I know. I usually do an internet search at the beginning of each season, to see if any new sites have popped up, so it’s possible. Given my previous experience, though, I doubt it. I think you should start a “roving” radar site- and post the radar from wherever you are! I could set you up with the download scripts and give you some pointers on making the animations 🙂
