Last night the winds were strong and southwesterly, as the latest low pressure system moved east across the region. Unfortunately, it looks as if the winds will continue out of the southwest into tonight, which should keep migration to a minimum until Wednesday. On Wednesday night, though, northwest winds will build in across the NE and mid-Atlantic, leading to some heavy migration into the region.

OK – there was stuff around the National Park dredge spoils in Gloucester County. I am thinking some small movement last night, but can’t be sure it didn’t happen a previous night. Stuff will stick around here for a few days. Anyway, some numbers:

GRAY CATBIRDS – many more than usual, so I am assuming many of them migrants.

Thanks for the call, and the post. You’re right, there was a small movement last night. Unfortunately, the Dover station was down last night, but I did get some images from Fort Dix and you could see some birds moving from NW->SE. The PA stations showed nothing moving, so whatever migration took place last night, did so over far Eastern PA and NJ. Maybe it was just enough to push some of the PA birds across the river, I don’t know… but COOL sightings! Looks like tonight will be a big fight…
