Winds are howling out of the WNW tonight (here’s the latest wind map) and nothing is moving on the radar (here’s the radar from 10:13 pm tonight) SO…
…I’m sleeping until 6:30am and not posting anything until Thursday morning. BUT…
…Thursday morning is looking really good so far, so follow my ‘tweets’ on Twitter for updates Wednesday night as migration unfolds, and check back here on Thursday morning for the latest radar interpretation (oh, and pretty pictures too!).
In the meantime, go find those birds that came in on Monday night- they’re sticking around for one more day!

p.s. one more thing- I did say “locally” in the title- and that’s because there IS some northbound nocturnal migration going on SOMEWHERE in the US tonight- can you tell where it is? Looks like stuff going on in Texas and Midwest..but then again..I have no clue…:) just hope they decide to come to North Carolina.
Well, they’re certainly avoiding me in Kentucky. Stupid birds.

where you can see the frontal boundary north of the migration event, pretty much blocking any northbound flight.
