An interesting bit of migratory information is coming in from the NEXRAD feeds this evening. It seems that although we’re under some NW winds tonight, the winds over Norfolk, VA are coming out of the SE. So far there’s a light movement of birds out of VA and heading over the Delmarva Peninsula. Birds are definitely making it to Delaware, but with the switch in wind expected as they push north, I don’t expect much to make it into Jersey. On a more distant note, there seems to be some good movement out of Central and Northern Florida tonight. Although the weather is calling for North winds over the next few days, any sign of birds building up to our south is a good sign!
I’ll post the radar in the morning, but if you’d like to see the Virgina radar, here’s the base velocity from sunset tonight until 10:30pm, and here’s the base reflectivity for the same time.
