Heavy migration tonight

Migration is heavy over the Northeast, with lots of birds moving over New Jersey as of 10:00pm. Winds are pretty strong out of the northwest right now, but birds seem to be compensating (maybe migrating at lower altitude?) as they can be seen moving N–>S across the Fort Dix and Dover radars. Migration is slower out of Albany and Binghamton, NY, but pretty good over PA, which will probably mean less of an influx into the state by morning…although with the westerly component to the winds, and the sheer numbers of birds moving out of North Jersey, expect good birding conditions along the coast and down at Cape May tomorrow.
I’ll post the radar in the AM.

Good Birding

David
