  • Radar down- but nothing to see anyway

The radar was down last night, but you didn’t miss anything; unless you live along the central flyway. We’ll have to wait for the east coast to clear before getting our next push…which is looking like possibly Thursday, but maybe later…nothing like a good sweat before the World Series of Birding!

  • Birds leaving, but storms blocking any potential arrivals

So far the radar looks bleak, with storms over the Carolinas and Virginia keeping migration down. Birds are moving over New Jersey, though, with wind directions ranging from south to west.

  • Ugh…was it the migration or the bachelor party that made me feel like this?…

Yeah. so I don’t think I can post the radar from last night…too much “night listening” in NYC last night. Anyway, migration happened last night, but it was mostly birds leaving as the conditions to the south were less than optimal. Tonight’s forecast calls for west/northwest winds, so expect little in the way of migration. […]

  • Viva Migration!

Whoa! Last night was a biggie. Here’s the radar from sunset last night through sunrise this morning. Looks like the biggest flight so far- and probably the most diverse.

  • Big BIIIIIGGGGGG Migration tonight

The radar is ablaze all up and down the east coast- probably the largest movement yet this Spring. Go Birding. West wind makes Sandy Hook a good bet.
