It’s happening all across the east coast- a huge migration event, the first great one of the season! I’ll post the radar in the morning, but Garret Mt., Sandy Hook, Cape May…yeah, they’ll have birds.

Yep! Another big movement tonight. There do not seem to be as many birds coming up through Texas as last night. Still virtually nothing out of Cuba. KBYX shows mostly a bunch of chaff trails. So much for my predictions! I thought there would be a lot of birds moving across the straits tonight…

Go here:
http://www.rap.ucar.edu/weather/radar/
Enter the following…
End Date: Today (or 3/31/06)
End Time: Most Recent (unless you’re reading this in the morning, in which case you should choose 8am, which would be 3am EST).
Loop Duration: 6 Hours (6:30pm is sunset, so try and get close to this)
Choose Regional Reflectivity for the “Product”, and then click on New Jersey.
You should get a view of the NE region from around sunset until 3am this morning.
Now I have to sleep so I can bird tomorrow…
