Migration Gumbo- comin’ right up!

Birds were on the move last night, but all that movement was well south of us. That’s about to change tonight. Migration is evident over VA, DE, and NJ tonight and with thunderstorms and period of heavy rain predicted for later this evening, so we could see some fallout conditions tomorrow morning. Since this whole system is moving from SW to NE (with the birds), it’s hard to tell where the major concentrations will be (if it’s raining hard in your backyard at 5am, stay home and bird from the porch). Seriously though, with all the Neotropical migrants being reported in VA recently, we should be seeing a bit more diversity with this push. Of course, if the weather gets nasty before birds really get moving, the whole show might shut down. I’ll post an update on woodcreeper.com later tonight (during the Mets game, when Pedro puts the smackdown on the Padres) and post the radar in the morning.

One response to “Migration Gumbo- comin’ right up!”

  1. Birds are still moving on the radar, so as of now it looks like we’ll see some new arrivals in the morning. I’ll post the radar first thing. So far it’s Mets 4, Padres 1.
